Lé’s work depicts fictional scenarios, transforming homely domestic environments into danger-filled territories. The atmosphere of these photographs hint at harm, fatality, despair. Colliding techniques of military surveillance with the overt consumerism of women’s magazines, she examines gender in society.

Her work asks why historical ideas of inequality persist now? She questions the role of the media, pervasive templates of beauty and social expectations placed upon women. What is the result of such pressures?
