Mutation has begun to take place between the physical and virtual, creating fleeting mirages within our urban landscapes.

The portals of artificial light in Patten’s films evoke a spiritual aura whilst retaining an essence of the familiar. Patten finds herself oscillating between the dimensions of the physical and the spiritual and through this exploration she finds herself transcending the boundaries of the every day. She invites the viewer to explore the tension between the known and the imagined.
