Jane Frankel is a visual artist working principally in the mediums of video and photography. She creates large scale, immersive, video installations which incorporate sculptural elements, still images and video portraying the nude body. The work is concerned with human behaviour and voyeurism, attempting to capture the presence of absence and questioning context and perception.

With a background in theatre and philosophy, Jane’s recent work is based on the precepts of Derrida and Kant. The installations engage the viewer in challenging beliefs about context and memory, mapping the presence of absence and the possibility of abstracting from the void.
